First Friday with Brigid

Today is the feast day for one of my favorite saints...St Brigid of Ireland.  Saintly from her youth, St. Brigid founded a nunnery in Kildare and would later be considered the leader for all nuns in Ireland.  She was know for her ability of "being mercy and pity for the poor."  There are many legends of her youth that have not been verified of miracles related to her generosity to the poor.

Today was also the first Friday of the month so we had the joy of Mass and special adoration before the Lord.  It was so wonderful to have all of the family together for this time of prayer.  It was also nice to see Edward trying so hard to help at the altar today...He is barely strong enough to hold the big book of prayers.  I wish I had been able to get a picture of him straining under the weight in order to hold up high enough for our priest to read!

However, our little talkers (youngest in the bunch!) were wound up today and I had to separate them to keep them from giggling too loud.  Oh to have such terrible problems as these that my children want to love and kiss each other in Mass!  If only they could do it a little quieter!  LOL!

Then Michael and Amanda headed out to stay with our dear friends in College Station for the weekend.  Michael is going to be a 4H training for the next two days.

The rest of us muddled through the last of the school work for the week.  The house was all a buzz over a birthday coming up tomorrow.  I will not tell you who but she is getting rather old! {HINT HINT!}  It will be interesting to see what the boys decide to do to celebrate tomorrow!  God bless!
